One of the most scenic regions in Southern Alberta is Foothills County, home to mountain vistas, crystal clear rivers and attractive towns and villages.  Many of the communities in this district are linked together by The Cowboy Trail, which means they are also rich in history and the heritage of the west (see www.thecowboytrail.com).

The calendar of events for this area rivals that of any major city, with rodeos, golf tournaments and farmers markets in the summer, and Christmas markets and concerts in the winter.  Local attractions include: Spruce Meadows International Show Jumping Grounds, Bar U Ranch, Marv’s Classic Soda Shop and, a favourite with all Star Trek Fans, the town of Vulcan, with it’s 31 foot long Vulcan Starship (modeled on the Enterprise).
