Foreign Ownership of Land

If you are not a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada you should be aware that there are regulations regarding the ownership of land.  You are limited to owning a maximum of 20 Acres.  There are situations where there is an exception to this ruling - for example if you own shares in a corporation that holds land as an asset.

The point of this Blog is to heighten awareness about Canada's Foreign Ownership of Property rules.  Before you make that Offer to Purchase check out whether your residency status actually allows this purchase otherwise you may find you are wasting precious time and financial resources chasing a dream that may not come to fruition.
