The Town of Crossfield is a quiet albeit cosmopolitan town, north of Calgary in the Rocky View County. Home to just under 3,000 people and growing as a result of the Calgary-Edmonton Corridor (also known as Deerfoot Trail).
Crossfield offers affordable living just over half hour away from the City, with pleasant rural surroundings. It’s easy to see why the Town was used as a backdrop in the movie ‘Brokeback Mountain’.
Although Crossfield is relatively small in comparison with nearby towns it has a strong economic base in natural gas processing and the farming industry, with summer fields displaying the golden colours of barley, canola, oats and wheat.
With around 3,000 people residing there, the historic Town of Carstairs is small but well established. Located further North than Crossfield along Calgary-Edmonton Corridor, in an hour you could be working in Calgary or shopping in Red Deer. The town boasts an 18-hole golf course with an abundance of parks and playgrounds. It even boasts it’s own Tourist Information Centre. The town has it’s own website with a wealth of information visit: www.carstairs.ca
Both Crossfield and Carstairs are only a short drive away from the newly developed CrossIron Mills Shopping Centre which has over 200 shops, a cinema with 7 giant screens and speciality food restaurants. This exceptional shopping centre has something to offer everyone in the way of entertainment, food, stores and careers.
